2014 Emperor's Cup

It will be the first tournament since the 47th edition held in January 1968 that the final match will not be held on 1 January in the following year, but will be moved up to December, due to 2015 AFC Asian Cup, scheduled to be held from 9 January 2015.
Also, it will be the first tournament since the 46th edition, which final was held at Komazawa Olympic Park Stadium in Tokyo in 15 January 1967, that the final match will not be held at National Stadium in Tokyo due to major renovations of the National Stadium scheduled in preparation for 2020 Summer Olympics. Among 3 candidates, Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo, Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, and Nagai Stadium in Osaka, Nissan Stadium was chosen as the venue for the 94th Final.
